Lean is more than just a tool for operational improvement. Lean is a complete strategy concentrating on customer focus for organizations to optimize their understanding of the customer and add value to the customer beyond the competition. A lean strategy will produce competitive advantages and allow for improved success in strategic plan implementation. In this article, I will address the definitions of lean, strategy, competitive advantage, and operational effectiveness; lean strategy argument; and benefits of lean strategy. As a result of this article, I propose a paradigm shift regarding the viewpoint of lean transforming into a pure corporate strategy.
