In a study of more than 60,000 people from over 180 countries by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development identified the “Better Life Index” for each country.  The results are interesting, especially if you use the Maslow hierarchy of needs as a focus.  Most, if not all, of the democratic countries are on the upper scale of Maslow’s needs, “work-balance” and “life satisifaction”.  The fascist / socialist style countries are on the bottom scale or basic needs, “safety”, “housing, and “health”.
