In thermodynamics and business operations, entropy is a natural killer of performance.  A lack of consistent maintenance or review leads to an unavoidable trend toward chaos, a falling a part of processes.  An old slogan is “if you are standing still – you are not advancing”.  The following are some ways to counter the entropy in your business:

The area that involves Lean is the last point – manage your talent.  They discuss Hoshin-Kanri, aligning your strategy, business planning, and workforce planning will focus the organization to maximize profits.  Utilizing a flexible workforce will allow the organization to handle normal peaks and valleys of the business cycle.  These are just the start to avoid standing still in a hypercompetitive global economy.
